Our Team
Dr. Angie Balsley is a transformational leader. With a doctorate in Education Leadership & Policy Studies from Indiana University and a masters in Strategic Management from the IU Kelley School of Business, combined with 25 years of professional field experience, Angie brings a combination of scholarly knowledge and practical experience to her work.
Angie has a high Relational Intelligence (RQ). She quickly forms connections with others and is constantly engaging with people. She collaborates with others to create and implement strategic solutions, achieve visions, improve programs and processes, and optimize financial resources. Angie’s experiences and education have contributed to her understanding of the inner-workings of business development including the cyclical process of creating, implementing, and revising strategic priorities, policies, and standard operating procedures. She believes in the art and science of leadership and leads by setting a positive tone with her team while maintaining high expectations for performance. She has a clear vision of organizational excellence with a broad background in organizational law, finance, and leadership. Her resourcefulness, skill at team-oriented collaboration, and use of data to inform decisions have all contributed to her success as an organizational executive. Her recent professional duties are similar to that of a superintendent. She is the leader of human and fiscal capital. She holds public board meetings, negotiates collective bargaining agreements with a Teachers’ Association, administers all human resources, manages a multi-million dollar budget, and operates facilities.
Angie has a history of effective and collaborative leadership in both career and community roles. Throughout her life, Angie has been actively involved in leadership within the community through Kiwanis, United Way, Girl Scouts, and community boards. She is highly relational as evidenced by her engagement in the Council of Administrators of Special Education, both at the state and national levels. She quickly forms connections and works with others to create synergetic solutions. Throughout her engagement with these organizations and in her current leadership roles, she has worked to ensure that the experiences and practices embody equity, inclusivity, and accessibility and are welcoming to individuals from a diverse demographic.
Angie’s communication skills, disposition, and work ethic enable her to successfully exceed expectations. She leans on her experience in building partnerships and connections across agencies and organizations to connect with district, state, and national leaders to collaboratively solve complex problems. She is confident in her skills and abilities and enjoys using her talents and passion in service and leadership.
